1. Meals
- I meal prep in bulk and freeze them
- My husband cooks as well and buys the groceries most times (I just send the list of items to him and quantities )
- At times I arrange with a good cook to make some meals if I can’t do that myself
2. Cleaning
- My husband and I take turns to do laundry and wash the toilets (weekly )
- For school uniforms , I get enough pairs to last a week
- My husband does the hovering most times
- I contract this out at times
- Dishwasher for plates

Tips for career women trying to balance it all:
•Choose your partner wisely : support at home is not a luxury, it’s essential
•Stop trying to do everything yourself : delegation is a life skill
•Plan ahead : meal prep, organise outfits, structure your week
•Outsource when you can: cleaning, cooking, childcare… protect your energy
•Lower the pressure of perfection : done is better than perfect
•Communicate clearly : don’t assume your partner “should just know”
•Protect your rest : burnout helps no one
•Make time for yourself : you are more than your career and your responsibilities

Let me tell you about the picture in Frame 1.

In August 2017, as a litigation lawyer in Lagos, I had work to do that required me to be at the office during the weekend.

There was only one problem that weekend.

I had a 16 months old son, no nanny and no one to leave him with at home so I asked my boss if I could bring him with me and she was gracious enough to agree. While I was working, my son fell asleep and I had to lay him down on the floor beside my table.

In that moment, I took a picture of him sleeping and made a promise to myself that if I ever had my own firm, at some point in that journey, no woman working with me who had a caregiver emergency and needs to be at work will have to lay her baby on the floor.

That same day, I thought of my struggles as a breastfeeding mother in the workplace and promised again that no woman working with me who had a baby will ever have to struggle for a private space to use her breast pump at work, relieve her aching breast to focus and save some quality milk for her baby.

Today, we finished the renovation of our office building complete with a nursing room.

Litigation is tough for women.

The firm should not make it tougher.

Strichland LP has a nursing room and today, by the grace of God, I kept that promise.

I may understand that a bunch of people cannot fathom a young adult living and working in Ogun state, trying to make a way for themselves because she ‘looks too good’ for such a job. This person has a sister living in Lagos, it’s a 2 hr drive & She’s 21, I have cousins in Ogun state ffs.

I was 17 filming entertainers at events just to ‘chase something’ from unilag. I was exactly 20 after grad juggling Ikotun & Chevron to be with Yhemolee , Asake and Ashidapo to document everything I could until YL started paying me and got me to film Olamide & Asake Omo ope and it was up from there. I really do understand agenda agending but I won’t let some silly takes ruin this one for her or let y’all undermine videos I create.

I understand that most of my videos span through the progression of a day but this video spanned over a week after our first meet.
I’m unsure how it looks like a 48hr livestream.

This is really good news.

Scientists have now successfully eradicated HIV from already-infected cells, using Crispr gene-editing technology.

The newly-edited cells had HIV DNA removed and they also resisted reinfection upon exposure.

A rare case where a surgeon accidentally developed his patient’s cancer

Cancer is not considered contagious. If cancer cells from another person enter your body, your immune system is supposed to destroy them.

But in very rare situations, biology doesn’t follow the rules.

A 32-year-old man underwent emergency surgery for an aggressive soft-tissue cancer called malignant fibrous histiocytoma. Sadly, he died shortly after the operation due to complications.

During the surgery, the 53-year-old surgeon accidentally injured the palm of his left hand while placing a drain. The wound was small, immediately cleaned, and properly dressed. No one thought much of it.

Five months later, the surgeon noticed a hard lump growing at the exact spot where his hand had been injured. It slowly enlarged to about 3 cm, roughly the size of a large coin.

The lump was surgically removed.

The diagnosis was shocking.

It was malignant fibrous histiocytoma, the same rare cancer the patient had.

The surgeon was otherwise healthy. Tests showed no immune deficiency. So how could this happen?

The DNA answered the question

Pathologists compared both tumors under the microscope and found them to be identical in appearance. But the real proof came from DNA testing.

Using genetic markers and HLA typing (a way of identifying tissue origin), doctors showed that the tumor in the surgeon’s hand carried genetic material from the patient.

This meant only one thing:

👉 The cancer had been accidentally transplanted from patient to surgeon during surgery.

Cancer cells likely entered through the small hand injury and managed to survive long enough to form a tumor.

Fortunately, the tumor was completely removed.
At two-year follow-up, the surgeon was healthy, with no recurrence and no spread.

Why this case is so remarkable:

This case does not mean cancer spreads through touch or casual contact. It shows that direct implantation of living cancer cells, under very specific conditions, can rarely lead to tumor growth, even in a healthy person.

It’s a rare exception that reminds us:

- Cancer isn’t contagious, but biology has loopholes
- The immune system is powerful, not perfect
- Medicine still encounters situations that challenge long-held beliefs
