I always feel a deep sense of sadness seeing how much the American society equates skinny to being healthy. Women of varying body types being bullied by people and institutions to fit into a single body type. It must be so exhausting.

One big culture shock for me has been seeing people paranoid about dressing extra for a wedding or ‘upstaging the bride’. I don think I can understand the thought process behind not wanting people to come to one of your biggest days looking their best.
