Top-heavy Brussels sprouts act like sails in autumn gales. Wind-rock tears fine root hairs, halting sprout development or snapping stems at ground level. Drive a stout wooden stake or bamboo cane deep beside the main stem on the windward side & tie with soft twine.

Cloches aren't just for spring! Use them in autumn/winter to buffer freeze-thaw cycles on young winter greens (spinach, mâche, winter gem), shield overwintering brassicas & fava beans from desiccation, and keep soil workable over carrots.

Ventilate on sunny days to stop fungal rot. ❄️🌱
