to be a good trader, you have to be boring
you cannot chase the dopamine, the buying when it's exciting, clicking buttons at anything that crosses your screen
you have to be disciplined, sit on your hands, let your convictions play out, let opportunities come to you
patience is the most important part of the game, but it's one of the hardest to adopt
in an exciting bull market, there is so much going on, but even with all that high pace, you have to play slow
Not an impressive PNL given how genny it was today comparing it to others... Still some good p for me tho, super grateful to be on chain every day learning and perfecting my style as I continue in my trading journey.
I wanted to build something good for the trenches, and I failed.
I hyped this up to my followers, friends, users, etc. - and I failed them all.
I’ve always stuck to myself, I’m not in any F&F, and I don’t interact with a ton of people - but there’s always been a respect level maintained for us as builders across the conversation.
When our products get any kind of hate, I defend us with dignity. I always say our tech is the best, and that we’re capable of doing anything any other team is.
Yesterday, with hype that couldn’t have been exceeded, we completely fumbled the opportunity to build something really positive - and it was down to our tech.
Now, the conversation is filled with (justified) hate & disappointment, and for once, I don’t have an answer.
I won’t hype you up. I won’t tell you we’ll do better next time. I won’t tell we will turn this into a positive.
We wasted your time, trust, and loyalty.
I want to thank the trenches for showing up for our release, and for even giving us a chance.
There were big integrations that were trying to halt any chance we had of success, but none of that even mattered. We had amazing partners (FOMO, PF Mobile, GMGN, etc.) who got involved, and were ready to help facilitate a new era for the trenches.
In the 20 minutes we had registrations open before our release, over $500,000 was funded into 10,000+ wallets made.
You were ready to support us, and that’s what hurts me about this even more. We had your trust, your loyalty, and your time - we simply weren’t worthy of any of it.
My role is marketing, and seeing how much support we had for the release, I think we had more than enough eyes on us.
That’s why everything about yesterday hurt me even more, I trusted the team to handle things that weren’t. The horrific release experience was as painful to me as it was to you.
I spent hundreds of hours perfecting the UI, making presentations, hiring designers, cooking marketing strategies, etc.
None of it meant anything.
The truth is, though I’d like to think I’m someone who continues to elevate, it’s been a while since I last did.
I’ve been in this same position for over a year now, with the same audience.
It would be fine to procrastinate if there was a light at the end of the tunnel, but with yesterday’s failure, I am struggling to find this light.
One thing I realised after yesterday, is that there is nothing I can build or be apart of in memecoins that will fulfil or bring me this light.
I have no more words, and I don’t deserve forgiveness. This is not something I’ll be able to get over, knowing we worked so hard on something that never even got a chance to flourish.
Those who find my posts making fun of other builders, keep making fun of me. In those moments, I truly thought I was the best of the best - and I never was.
You’ve seen enough of our shenanigans. You’ve seen enough from me.
This isn’t a win-win relationship anymore. Every post and message I send is yap. Any ego or energy I did have to argue has been evaporated by this monumental failure. Whatever is "next" isn't something I can think about right now.
My next post will be in 2027.
