To sum up why Cops sat in Hospitals guarding #MentalHealth patients is unacceptable, imagine if we told Paramedics who came across a victim of crime they *had* to stay with them until we had an Officer to deal?

There’d be uproar. It’s not their job and they’re not trained to deal with crime…

For information, our training as Police Officers to deal with Mental Health Incidents is a power point. And nine times out of ten, relies on an Officer’s empathy and experience rather than that power point.
