Sometimes I think I might already be dead and the consciousness I am experiencing now is some AI in the distant future piecing together fragments of a human experience by threading together my life in bits of social media litter I left behind.
Other times I’ll eat a sandwich.
Since Doug's passing, I've been contemplating the best way to honor him specifically and purposefully. Adopting a senior dog was the most rewarding experience of my life, so I figured we could start there. For the month of February, @15outof10 is covering the adoption fees of all German Shepherds over 1 year old in Los Angeles County shelters, through a partnership with @LACoAnimalCare. Right now, that is 76 dogs, affectionately known as Doug's Buds. If you are in a position to responsibly adopt a dog, it would mean the world to me if you started your journey by considering them, the oldest and the wonkiest ❤️
For those of you nowhere near LA, you can search for a Doug's Bud in a shelter near you, and submit them for consideration through the link underneath this tweet. We will also cover their adoption fee and add them to our page of Doug's Buds. For now, this is limited to German Shepherds and German Shepherd mixes over the age of 5 (wonky ear is just a bonus, not a requirement).
Throughout the month, we will be featuring individual Doug's Buds as an extra push to help get them adopted. And *fingers crossed* sharing adoption photos of the Doug's Buds who find forever homes. Thank you so much for giving us a platform to do things like this. I miss my boy so much, and to help find his friends some loving homes would be very, very cool.
