The Belief
One of the most widespread beliefs among jobseekers is that every vacancy is already reserved for a relative, friend, tribe mate, or someone with powerful connections. As a result, many people conclude that applying for jobs is a waste of time unless they already know someone inside the organization.

The Reality
Professional networks matter in every country and every industry. Recommendations and referrals can certainly open doors. However, this does not mean that all jobs are predetermined.Many organizations continue to recruit based on merit, competence, and suitability for the role.
Employers are constantly searching for individuals who can contribute value to their organizations.
A strong candidate often stands out through:

>Interview performance
>Persistence in applying
>Continuous learning
A positive professional reputation

Ironically, many jobseekers eliminate themselves before employers ever have the chance to do so. They assume they cannot succeed and therefore never apply.
Rather than focusing on who you do not know, focus on becoming someone employers want to know.
