Al-Hasan Al-Basrī said:
“Your [true] brother is the one who advises you! And the one who advises you is better for you than the one who deceives you and arouses false hopes in you!”

From Sulaymān bin Mūsā who said:
“Do not take knowledge from a sahafī (someone who takes knowledge from books and not from scholars).”
