Vela 0.8.0 is live & introduces bar replay.

chart.replay rewinds to any past bar and plays forward, by hand with step() or on a timer with play(ms).

Indicators update bar by bar exactly as they would live.

Multi-chart layouts replay on one clock, so a 1m and a 4H chart never leak the future to each other.

Tick replay builds each candle from its intrabar updates, the way a live bar forms.
