@Burner1652822 That's nice. You don't need to get good at the game or master the aforementioned to finish it, and in this case, they dropped the game before doing so. I'm obviously not expecting them to learn to mockball or short-charge on their first playthrough.
@GBA_gabo The Super Metroid wall jump is not frame perfect. You have 12 frames to press jump, starting with the frame after pressing away from any given wall.
@Zheshka_ I agree with that. Usually the very first game within a genre is just what gets the ball rolling anyways, and another down the line becomes the genre-definer or gold standard. Metroid 3 getting credit instead of Metroid 1 in this case
@Zheshka_ Well I can't speak for all of them, but in my experience most of the more serious fans of certain genres tend to seek out and play the early entries. But yeah, it depends
@OogleyBoogly It shouldn’t, but seeing as how everything in the genre is a derivative or deeply inspired by it, it might be worth finishing it to gain the frame of reference upon which others are held. Unique case, since it’s one of the genre’s progenitors and arguably yet to be surpassed
@arfa2706 Super Metroid has better gameplay than most of the list, it’s just more focused on movement and traversal - the controls (remap them) and advanced tech for speedruns have a learning curve and high skill floor, making mastering the movement all the more rewarding
Beat FF1 NES without opening chests and without class changing for RA. Used Fighter/Black Belt/Red Mage/Black Mage named after the ones in the FF Duane and BrandO video. What a pain… time for the 4 Fighters victory lap.
@GoldenCrowbar@strangerman3@RE_Games It’s like their 8th time. Dante Must Die in every DMC, Lucia Must Die in DMC2, Vergil Must Die in DmC, Ethan Must Die in RE7, and now this. If anyone’s the bot account, it’s you
