Dear @FNCompetitive ,
I am writing to ask you to please bring back Central servers for competitive Fortnite. Ping plays a major role in Fortnite, and the location of competitive servers can have a huge impact on a player's ability to perform at their best.
In Fortnite, even a small difference in ping can determine whether a player takes a wall, completes an edit, or wins a fight. Players with lower ping have a significant advantage, especially in competitive matches where every millisecond matters. Moving competitive tournaments to East servers puts players in Central states at a disadvantage simply because of where they live.
Central servers provide a more balanced competitive environment for players across the Central and Eastern United States. While no server location can give everyone the exact same ping, Central servers help reduce the geographical advantage that players living near East servers would otherwise have.
Competitive Fortnite should reward players for their skill, dedication, and game sense rather than their proximity to a server. Players should not have to move across the country just to have a fair chance at competing at the highest level.
Many players have spent countless hours practicing and improving their skills on Central servers. Removing Central servers from competitive play would make it harder for those players to compete against opponents who have significantly lower ping.
Bringing back Central servers would help create a fairer competitive environment and give more players across the country an opportunity to compete without being held back by their location.
I strongly encourage Epic Games to listen to the competitive community and bring back Central servers. Fortnite should be a game where the best players succeed because of their abilities, not because they happen to live closer to the servers.
