Rob Reiner moved so beautifully between genres because the man connected them all with the biggest heart — a heart that seemed even bigger outside of movies. A horrible, horrible end to a legendary life.
So I’ve seen some backlash against “write your spec” on this device lately. And as a big proprietor of the movement (I mean — it’s my hashtag) I thought I would share a story with you all.
And I promise you it’s not going where you think it’s going.
Steven Spielberg on Drew Struzan's passing:
"Drew made event art. His posters made many of our movies into destinations…and the memory of those movies and the age we were when we saw them always comes flashing back just by glancing at his iconic photorealistic imagery. In his own invented style, nobody drew like Drew."

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our founder and friend Robert Redford.
Bob’s vision of a space and a platform for independent voices launched a movement that, over four decades later, has inspired generations of artists and redefined cinema in the U.S. and around the world.
Beyond his enormous contributions to culture at large, we will miss his generosity, clarity of purpose, curiosity, rebellious spirit, and his love for the creative process.
We are humbled to be among the stewards of his remarkable legacy, which will continue to guide the Institute in perpetuity.
The spirits that remain after something magical’s happened, and how you can go back to a place where something amazing occurred, and the feeling’s still in the air.
