@rheaddavinash While there are a fair number of global warming skeptics, I feel that more and more people are realizing the full extent of our impending climate change. In anticipation of a drastically altered reality, people are doing what they can to fight global warming. #RHEADD
@daisyw98 It's extremely disheartening to think about, but in this, ignorance is not bliss. We must remain cognizant of the complexities of the divide, [the extent of] our privilege and the repercussions of the technological advancements we're often so quick to praise. #parallelism#RHEADD
@Douglas17609218 All in all, I think you did a great job relating your persona experiences to the topics discussed in class. However in your final paper, maybe talk less about filter bubbles and more so about other societal factors that contribute to the digital divide. #RHEADD
@NadisonCasey I love how you describe the internet as being one-dimensional here. Maybe see how you can incorporate a simile or metaphor to accentuate the one-dimensional facet of the internet. #RHEADD
@NadisonCasey I think you did a great job covering all the topics we have discussed in class. However as this final paper is mainly geared towards your individual place in the context of the digital divide, you should include more personal experiences and anecdotes. #RHEADD
@rheaddavinash You mention here that you are likely to see different content online than an elderly white female. In your paper, maybe give an example of what you would see in comparison to what she would see. #RHEADD
@rheaddavinash I think you did a great job relating the topics we have discussed in class to your personal life, especially the time in your life that you spent living in India. You mention that you will do your part in closing the divide. Maybe elaborate on this in the final paper. #RHEADD
@daisyw98 Overall, I think you did a great job of allowing your voice to be heard throughout this twitter thread while still pertaining to the main subject material. In the final paper, I would maybe discuss a little more about filter bubbles and targeted advertising. #RHEADD
@RHEshreyas All in all, I think you did a great job covering the various topics we have discussed throughout the semester. Understandably, this is only a twitter thread and your writing is limited by such. In the final paper just elaborate more about yourself and these topics. #RHEADD
@RHEshreyas You mention here how you can see how the internet can be seen as an inalienable right. Maybe you can use comparatio here to compare the internet to another inalienable right in our society. #RHEADD
@ben_roberts_4 By utilizing institutional accounts vs personal accounts, this doesn't really allow for anonymity because said institutional accounts are still representing a specific organization/institution. Rather this simply "encourage[s] more rational behavior" (Day 12). #RHEADD
In our current digital age, it seems no information is truly private. While many companies (Facebook, Amazon and Twitter) claim that they are securely and confidentially mining our personal data, the various scandals and data leaks in just the past year say otherwise.#parenthesis
Utilizing this perceived "filter bubble," companies are able to push us content that simply reinforces our preexisting beliefs. As such these companies exploit the naivety of these users to further their own agendas regardless if this includes spreading false information.
