Reminder: both the House of Commons and the House of Lords held a minute's silence in memory of George Floyd - one man, who died in another country. But now we're being told that anyone in the US, or even in Britain, passing comment on the death of Henry Nowak is outrageously 'politicising' his death.

Starmer, along with vast numbers of other British politicians, took the knee after Floyd died, and used that one death to falsely paint both the US and the entire West as systemically racist, on the basis of distorted and selectively cherry picked statistics, propagandistic media coverage and hysterical social media commentary. He explicitly called Trump's response, the then-president, an 'affront to humanity'. Now he claims to be horrified that JD Vance, or anyone else, might dare 'intervene' by commenting on Nowak's death.

David Lammy, our Deptuty PM, called for 'Righteous Anger' after Floyd died. Shabana Mahmood, our Justice Secretary, spoke of her 'unspeakable outrage' over Floyd's death. Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, praised the 'fury' after Floyd's death.

I could go on and on. Bear in mind that all of this was BEFORE anyone was even convicted of a crime, whereas the outrage in Nowak's case is AFTER a conviction. Now all these same people are berating Vance, Farage and anyone else they can think of for suggesting Brits are entitled to feel 'rage' at Nowak's death in THIS country.

There is literally no possible justification for this disparity in approaches. It reveals in the starkest most slapstick way imaginable just how selective and opportunistic mainstream-lib outrage culture actually is.

The point I am making here is not that the right must mirror BLM-style outrage culture, or that any and all responses to Nowak's death are legitimate, but more that the mainstream-progressive fake outrage at present is so ludicrous, and so transparent, that it should discredit anyone and everyone who is engaging in it.
