Great to spend a whole day at @YouthLinkScot for our Board strategy development day. Lots of interesting discussions about how we can support this amazing organisation to promote Youthwork across Scotland. #youthworkworks
I always enjoy getting together with all the other National Voluntary Youthwork Leaders for our bi monthly meeting. Much doom and gloom in the room (politics, staff development, funding, cld review), but still our check in was 'what makes you hopeful'?! 😬 #hope#youthworkworks
Get a bunch of youthworkers together and give them post it notes and sticky stars and they can solve anything!!! Fun afternoon with some of the team from YMCA designing public health 'interventions'!
The relationship between a charity's CEO and Chair is so vital for the success of an organisation and I feel so blessed having a supportive chair who is also willing to challenge my thinking. Lovely morning meeting Edinburgh Fruit Market. #Trust#teamwork
Today the @scotgov outlined their draft budget for 2024/25.
While we welcome the Scottish Government’s commitments to move towards Fair Funding for Scotland’s voluntary sector by 2026, there was little evidence of that today.

' we really value the third sector and all the incredible work you do to support the most vulnerable in our society. I appreciate you have rising costs, diminishing funding and increased demand for services.
@S_A_Somerville@GlasgowCVS@scotgov The criteria but SG again wanted to keep funding the existing orgs. Appreciate you have to strike a balance, but it feels impossible to get in the funding door!!!
Great to be at @GlasgowCVS this morning to hear from Cabinet Secretary @S_A_Somerville . Disappointed to hear that the @scotgov are committed to keep funding existing orgs that get SG funding, at the expense of some amazing and impactful grassroot orgs - like VS - that are......
@S_A_Somerville@GlasgowCVS@scotgov Hi Shirley-Anne. Thank you for your time today. It's much appreciated. My frustration is around the existing two SG youthwork core funds which were supposed to be made into one fund. We have applied twice. First application process cancelled due to covid, second one we met.......
The 2p cut to National Insurance means £449 less tax paid by an average full-time employee, but this is almost entirely offset by frozen thresholds and other changes since 2021.
For others, these freezes will more than cancel out the 2p cut.

Can't believe I've been on the @YouthLinkScot board for 3 years!!! Looks like I might have another 3 to go 🤞. Really enjoy being part of the team here, despite the challenging environment we're operating in. Always feel SO welcome here. ❤️ #youthworkworks
to lose their funding. Hours of wasted time and costs filling in applications. 🤦♂️SG needs to be open and transparent. If some orgs can't 'lose' their funding, fund them openly and directly and don't make us compete against them. #LevelPlayingField
Meeting the governments priorities and helping transform the lives of young people in need.
@VentureScotland have already been the victim of this, with youthwork core funding, where we didn't get funding as ministers thought it was 'politically unacceptable' for certain orgs...
Depression can be so bad it stops us doing everyday things. There might be a reason, but there might not be either.
This can be really tough. Watch our latest animation to learn more about it and how we can get the help we need: https://t.co/KEOhALmV2n
Great morning at the Outdoor Learning Providers Forum, meeting @mspliz to chat through her Bill to ensure young people have a right to outdoor education. Great to have a politician who REALLY gets the power of outdoor learning. #youthworkworks
