@quincysoccer@TrustTrost@IHSA_IL There has to be some media attention given to this. You would never see a football team DQ’d from postseason for too many penalties or a basketball team for too many fouls. This is crazy!
Dear #IHSA, 99.9 percent of Illinois is looking at you tonight wondering why you’re kicking innocent kids out of a statewide event over fouls that no other Midwest state does and you don’t do in say basketball or football - your two largest revenue-generating sports.
Once again, as you look at the photos of the seniors from Carmel High School, I remind you that you don’t have a regular-season foul rule that has double jeopardy for your statewide tournaments other than soccer.
You don’t do it for football.
You don’t do it for basketball.
You’re ending high school careers of student athletes, some of whom missed the 2020-21 season when you were BEGGING student athletes to help YOU; when you know YOUR system is flawed; and you know YOU have massive clerical errors.
I know you’re reading. Someone from your office called me on Friday at 12:56 pm asking me not to publicly name the official who filed a yellow card against Carmel’s boys soccer team on Aug. 22 that didn’t even play that day.
Media stories are beginning to run in Chicago, soon it will be nationally because you’re hammering innocent kids who just want to play a game with every other student athlete and school in Illinois.
I watched in 2019 when you sidelined 1,000s of innocent kids, then told media you would address the strike policy after you lost and were slammed in court. You then had the BIG-EGO BALLS to literally appeal that ruling to keep innocent KIDS off the fields, because your butt was red. The courts played your appeal game, stuck it to you and said they wouldn’t rule until after the event was over making your ego-driven attempt useless.
It’s been 1,403 days since you tabled addressing a political strike policy that hammers innocent kids. You blamed weather in Dec. 2019, then you blamed COVID probably in 2020 and still today. Amazing isn’t it: You couldn’t find time over the past 1,403 days, 33,672 hours, 2,020,320 seconds to address that policy that hurts kids.
And you’re doing it again over regular-season fouls that you don’t do in any other sport, no other state has your asinine rule and you have clerical errors underneath leadership from someone has 0 - literally .0000000000000 soccer background.
Stand up, do what’s right - for once. Have some pride in helping kids, there is plenty of time, lose the ego and address the system that everyone knows is broken. You do it later and everyone will again know you’re truly ego-driven and gutless.
Congratulations to these boys on their IHSCAA and WB6 Conference honors!
