@Racingwithbruno@DelMarRacing What do you think has happened with Baffert’s horses, as he was known for this for a couple decades, but suddenly it’s stopped?
You won’t see a more stacked 2 year old maiden field than today’s SAR 8th. Top pedigrees, trainers and purchase prices top to bottom. Would be wise to tag every horse out of this race (including the winner) for bet next time out.
@BSouthstreet Furthermore, this horse was bred to win early, is working great, and was purchased in April for $350k so all signs point to it running big first out.
@Keyrace762 While McCarthy can fire 1st out, it’s not his thing. Angle in this race (credit @BSouthstreet) is to bet Yakteen horse when Baffert has two horses entered in the same race. This angle has hit repeatedly.
@Keyrace762@TRACKGABE Abreu has been slumping but is definitely capable of winning first time out. The fact they paid $100k in May for a NY bred suggests the horse can run. I agree Manny taking this mount makes the 2 worth a bet.
@TRACKGABE Comment was specific to 1 1/8 on inner turf. I stand by my opinion that not only is outside pp not a detriment, it may be preferable to inside post.
@TRACKGABE Nope. 10 post at 1 1/8 on Saratoga inner turf is not a disadvantage. Horse has almost entire stretch to establish position and there’s no excuse for a jockey to get caught wide into first turn.
@YPersisted @WizardPicks Having your potential return cut by 50% after the gate opens isn’t a big deal? The reality here was worse. A 67% reduction ($3 for your $5 bet rather than $9). Hard enough to beat an 18 to 20% track take out, not possible to beat the extra 50% take out from the CAWs
@Donbuck32@pawluk_michael With the record number of retirees due to the aging population and ease of betting from a phone, this should be the golden age of horse racing. Instead we have record numbers of life long fans leaving the game in disgust.
@Jackpotkimm@ChurchillDowns CAWs put in ~ $300K in the last click, meaning at 5-1 they heisted $1.5 million in broad daylight in front of racing’s largest audience of the year. The arrogance of knowing you can do this with zero chance of consequences is the worst part.
@1GR8FULGUY In other countries the tracks have the camera aligned with the wire and a line across the screen so you instantly know who won. I guess the US is so technologically backward that no tracks here can replicate.
