I have a question for perhaps my favourite brand on the planet.
Google AI has these spiffy new IPL ads featuring Ishan Khatter and Sara Arjun, and in the fourth ad in the series, she asks Google AI if Vastu could help her boyfriend's team win. And following the AI's instructions she tries to change the Vastu in his living room.
For a moment, let me assume that Vastu has some methodology behind it which still cannot be rationally proven and so it makes sense to use Vastu.
But answer me this, even if you are a believer, do you think re-arranging your living room will change the luck or fortunes of your team, whose dressing room is probably not anywhere close to your place..
And in that case, why is a brand built on the most rigorous science is promoting this? Is it to encourage early adoption from the wildly popular and lucrative astrology and predictions market?
In which case it goes against every principle on which this amazing company was built.

All you Dog lovers are shouting hoarse about injustice to dogs regarding the Supreme Court’s order. But where were they when a four-year-old child was brutally killed in broad daylight on the streets ..Likewise thousands get attacked every year

Where was your compassion then? Or is compassion reserved only for those with wagging tails while dead children don’t count?

And yes, there is nothing wrong with loving dogs. I love them too. But love your dogs in your own homes, in your luxury bungalows , in your manicured lawns. Love your imported Labradors, your pedigreed Huskies, your high-breed pets bought from breeders and hire staff to look after them

But the truth is this: the dog menace does not exist in your lavish villas. It prowls in the streets and slums. It stalks the alleys where the poor live, where children play barefoot, where no gates or fences protect them. While the privileged stroke their glossy pets, the powerless are left to tend to the wounded and bury their loved ones .

You talk about dog rights. Fine. But what about the child’s rights? The right to live. The right of his parents to see him grow. Do those rights vanish because you love dogs ? Do those rights matter less than your Instagram photos of you cuddling your own pedigreed pets?

Here is the truth you don’t want to hear: compassion without balance is injustice . If you truly love dogs, then adopt them, feed them, and protect them in your secure homes. Or force the government to come up with solutions . But don’t burden the streets with your love , where it turns into the death of someone else’s child.

The poor should not pay with their blood for the sentimental indulgence of the rich.

And realise this truth that a society that values the life of a stray dog over the life of a child has already lost its humanity.

As a dog lover who has two dogs at home, both adopted, not bought and one a Indie, I really think the problem lies more with the self-styled ‘animal activists’ than the dogs. We have several strays in our locality and a very aggressive lobby feeding them.

But the thing is, they only feed. No one wants to take the responsibility of annual vaccinations or sterilisations. Even when a dog is injured, no one wants to take the responsibility to take them to the vet, because ‘it is too much work to catch them’.

The dogs are used to food, and when they don’t get it, they get aggressive. They have attacked the elderly and young kids in the past, probably because they expect food.

My question is, at least those who can afford to keep the dogs, why don’t they adopt the strays and give them a forever home? Because it means taking responsibility for the dogs 24/7, and yes, it requires a significant investment of time, emotions, energy and money.

But I wish these self styled animal lovers would focus on adoption rather than call the whole world callous and uncaring because we see the problem. As a child, I have seen a person afflicted with rabies, and believe me, it is a VERY painful way to die.

Culling the dogs, poisoning them or mercilessly beating them to death is certainly not the answer to this problem. But at least accept that the problem exists! Self styled animal activists don’t even want to do that.

When a child of a construction labourer couple was mauled to death by a pack of strays a few months ago, these same people were passing judgements on the parents for not looking after their child, like a construction labourer couple could afford baby care!
