Shettima went to the BRICS summit dressed like a pastor on his way to midweek service.
Who exactly are they fooling?
The world is not studying the collar. The world is studying the country he represents.
Hunger, insecurity, and a collapsing currency do not become respectable because the Vice President changed costume.
Dress is not diplomacy. Performance is not leadership.
What I find strange is how Pastor Adeboye keeps becoming the target whenever Nigerians are frustrated with the state of the nation.
First, let’s correct a factual error. Remi Tinubu is not a pastor in RCCG. She is an ordained Assistant Pastor. There is a difference.
Secondly, I keep hearing people ask why Pastor Adeboye is not leading protests. My question is simple: have you asked your own parents to carry placards and join the next protest? I doubt many of them are even up to 84 years old. Why is the burden always on Pastor Adeboye while everyone else watches from social media?
Pastor Adeboye is the General Overseer of RCCG, not the President of Nigeria. He was not elected into government. He does not control the country’s policies, budget, security agencies, or economy. Yet some people speak as though he should be held more accountable than the officials Nigerians actually voted into office.
The funny thing is that when Pastor Adeboye speaks, people complain. When he prays, people complain. When he stays focused on his assignment as a pastor, people still complain. It seems that for some people, the issue is no longer what he says or does; the issue is simply Pastor Adeboye himself.
Pastor Adeboye is accountable before God for his calling, not before social media activists looking for a public performance.
If Nigerians want to demand accountability, they should direct that energy first toward the people occupying political offices. Those are the individuals constitutionally responsible for governing the country.
Pastor Adeboye is a pastor. The President is the Tinubu. Confusing those roles is part of the problem.

I am delighted to announce the reopening of the General Hospital Amachara and the renovated and retrofitted Abia State Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Centre. These facilities have been upgraded and will be driven by a round-the-clock power and water supply. We are determined to combat the threat of modern diseases by providing quality health care for our people.
Our target is to restore all our primary and secondary health institutions in the state to optimal functionality. We want to ensure that no resident of Abia will need to travel out of the state for medical concerns. Expect to see more of these improved facilities in the state in the coming months. I also want to issue a stern warning to vandals who steal medical equipment: you will be dealt with according to the law. My promise to Ndị Abia, which is at the heart of the Labour Party agenda, is that we shall spend our waking hours working for you, using the instruments of government to solve problems.
Special thanks to Dr Ngozi Okoronkwo, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Betty Emeka Obasi, SSA on Special Duties, the executive team of the State's Ministry for Health and the management of the HMB for their tireless contributions in achieving this feat.
Africa has been milked for decades by these unscrupulous politicians. What you are seeing now shouldn’t shock you much. The people of Africa are waking up.
