📣 Strategic Victory in our #Australian Federal Court Arms Challenge, the Fight Continues.

40+ legal scholars say the EU has a duty to end trade with Israel's illegal settlements and can do so with a qualified majority of member states. No unanimity is needed.
EU Commission must stop dragging its feet and table a proposal @vonderleyen@MarosSefcovic
We joined 90+ human rights organizations & trade unions in calling on the EU and member states to adopt long-overdue measures, including suspending the EU-Israel Association Agreement, banning trade with illegal Israeli settlements, and suspending all transfers and transit of arms to Israel. 🔗 Read the joint letter : https://t.co/YE8EWZR8QY

We condemn the unlawful detention and ill-treatment of flotilla activists Thiago de Avila and Saif Abu Keshek. Their pre-trial detention has been extended by two days with no formal charges filed. The activists have been abducted from international waters with no legal basis. Both have testified to severe physical abuse amounting to torture. We demand their immediate and unconditional release and stand in full solidarity with them against this violation of international law.
🔴 Important update: 🇮🇹 is open to restricting EU trade with settlements: https://t.co/9ct8r954nc
Given Italy's weight in the EU's "Qualified Majority Voting" mechanism, measures are finally within reach
A full ban is required. Hopefully we're getting there 🧵⤵️ 1/9
Kaja Kallas: Excluding Israel from Eurovision would be "mistaken" & "punish the Israeli people" -- but the EU will cut funding to the Venice Biennale because Russia's participation is "morally wrong" while it "bombs museums, destroys churches and seeks to erase Ukrainian culture"
EuroMed Rights condemns the EU's failure to act on Israel's ongoing genocide, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid in occupied Palestine.
Despite pressure from Belgium, Ireland, Slovenia, Spain, and others, the EU Foreign Ministers Meeting failed yesterday to suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement, ban trade in Israeli settlement goods, or impose sanctions on extremist settlers and officials.
This inaction makes the EU complicit in serious Israeli violations of international law. Almost a year has passed since the EU determined that Israel's conduct breaches the human rights clause of the EU-Israel Association Agreement.
The EU must translate these findings into concrete action at the next FAC meeting in May.

Human rights aren’t optional. The EU-Israel Association Agreement is conditional on respect for human rights and democratic principles, conditions not being met. Israel has adopted a new discriminatory death penalty law targeting Palestinians only.
Israel's genocide in Gaza continues, and ethnic cleansing accelerates in the West Bank. Meanwhile, a 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon comes too late for the thousands Israeli forces have killed and maimed, for the families now grieving, and for the millions whose homes, livelihoods, and communities have been deliberately destroyed.
Europe must act. Suspend the EU–Israel Association Agreement now.

350+ former EU ministers, ambassadors and senior officials call for suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement over Israel's systematic violations of international law in Gaza, West Bank incl. East Jerusalem, and Lebanon
W/new death penalty law, targeting Palestinians only, Israel is formalizing cruel treatment & torture of Palestinian detainees.
@btselem calls upon 🇪🇺EU to do all it can legally to⛔️ Israel's human rights violations & uphold its own legal obligations under international law. ☮️
Good news!
After the death penalty law for Palestinians, the torture of children, state backed settler terror and the genocide on Palestinians, finally a majority in Dutch parliament to suspend the trade part of the EU-Israel association agreement.

From Words to Action: Shielding the ICC and Civil Society from US Sanctions
Since February 2025, the U.S. has targeted the International Criminal Court (“ICC”) and those cooperating with the Court under Executive Order 14203, sanctioning the ICC Prosecutor and Deputy Prosecutors, eight ICC Judges, and three leading Palestinian NGOs: Al-Haq, Al Mezan, and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR).
In response, the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC) has prepared a landmark report detailing the impact of these sanctions on ICC officials and human rights defenders.

We strongly condemn Israel's deadly attacks on #Lebanon. Yesterday's massive wave of strikes killed and wounded hundreds in hours, overwhelming hospitals across the country. Since March 2, over 1,500 have been killed, including 200+ women and children, and more than one million displaced.
Lebanon should be included in any ceasefire. We call on the EU to move beyond condemnation & suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement.
BREAKING: In 2021, Israel designated Defence for Children International – Palestine @DCIPalestine, offered no evidence, and moved against its lawyers and that of five other Palestinian civil society groups to prevent effective appeal.
By July 2022, nine EU States (Belgium , Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Sweden) publicly concluded that Israeli claims were unsubstantiated and continued their support to the NGOs.
DCIP endured. But institutions do not break overnight; they are worn down, incrementally, by accusation without proof and pressure without recourse.
What we are now witnessing is not an isolated episode, but a method of frivolous allegations and repression. One that will not stop at Palestinian organisations and will affect Israeli and international NGOs.
Measures framed as security regulation operate, in practice, to constrict humanitarian space, undermine human rights protection, and erode the institutional capacity through which Palestinians exercise agency and pursue self-determination.
Adoption of the discriminatory death penalty law by Israel requires urgent EU measures: read here the joint statement signed up by EuroMedRights alongside other 30 organisations: https://t.co/vpPkzC3jT4
EuroMed Rights condemns the Israeli Knesset's move to expand the scope of the death penalty to Palestinians, stripping away any resemblance of rights afforded to them.
Arbitrary deprivation of life and the entrenchment of a discriminatory legal system, with military courts in the lead are all in complete breach of international law.
The EU must act now. Human rights commitments under the EU Israel Association Agreement can't be disregarded any more, and its suspension must be activated without further delay.
For decades, Israel has always denied Palestinian Christians access to the Church of Holy Sepluchre with full impunity, today it’s denying religious leaders access to hold Palm Sunday mass:
