Presently Uganda is hit the hardest by extreme weather events. We are facing a #ClimateEmergency that media is hardly reporting. Semu river in eastern Uganda tears through a trading Centre days after at least 10 people died in western Uganda @GretaThunberg
The large-scale extinction of tree species would
lead to major biodiversity losses. Half of the
world's animal and plant species rely on trees as
their habitat.
All those people will be
directly impacted by tree losses. A lot of trees also
have special spiritual or cultural meaning, When
those tree species are lost, that cultural heritage is
also lost, like the dragon's blood trees in Yemen, or
baobabs in Madagascar.
Scientists have issued an urgent warning to humanity about the global impact of tree extinctions. Lots of animals have gone extinct, trees are next. When the last tree dies the last man dies. π΄π³π
Some people live in the forest and use it for subsistence, for food, shelter and medicine. Many more people use forests for their income to sell things they collect or make from forest.
