Our preprint on multi-stress responses in out now in @PlantPhys Shout out to @JiangZ1992 for pulling off this incredibly challenging project and to the reviewers for their lovely remarks @ZantenMartijn @VerhoevenAv https://t.co/Ay3xHYVmXq
Tilletia menieri on Phalaris arundinaceae (rietgras). Surprisingly smelly smut fungus with good looking spores. Near Tiel, the Netherlands. #wildplantdisease
The latest from a long-standing collaboration with the Mustroph lab. Led by Hans van Veen&Jana Muller. What determines variation in flood tolerance? We surveyed 5 Brassica species (including Arabidopsis) to dig deeper @ISPLORE @AbioticStress @UUPlants https://t.co/FoDPq57kGG
Hyalopsora polypodii (blaasvarenroest in Dutch) on the fern Cystopteris fragilis. Found it in a botanical garden. This fern is quite rare here in the Netherlands, and this is the first time I saw this nice orange rust.
Our paper by @JiangZ199 describing how plants acclimate to simultaneous occurence of high temperature and drought and flooding followed by drough is now online as preprint: https://t.co/7O0w9Yducg. With @VerhoevenAv and cosupervised by @R_Sasidharan
Telia of Puccinia chrysosplenii (goudveilroest) on Chrysosplenium oppositifolium (paarbladig goudveil), near Nijmegen. Have been looking for this species for some time. Glad that @NielsEimers discovered it a few weeks ago. #rustfungi#wildplantdisease
By using a thermal gradient table we can now study plant temperature signalling over a temperature spectrum within a single experiment. Curious about our setup? Please contact us! @JiangZ1992@ZantenMartijn

We are looking for a new colleague to work on ML/AI in bioinformatics! Come join @WU_BioInfo as assistant/associate professor in a wonderful scientific ecosystem with @jjjvanderhooft@annecmg@dickderidder @HarmNijveen #sandrasmit and others. Please RT! https://t.co/JD0gbvUJSv
It's online! Our latest study on plant temperature signalling.
In the 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑡, temp signalling tightly overlaps with light.
Here we show that in the 𝑟𝑜𝑜𝑡 there's a lot of overlap with water availability signalling.

After years of preparation, the @NPEC_nl facility at Utrecht University opened its doors today. Congratulations to all researchers involved… and to those who will now be able to make great strides in their research! https://t.co/LLBTLg7RbN @UU_Plants
The impressive aecia of Puccinia minutissima on swamp loosestrife (Decodon verticillatus) near Waterloo in Michigan. The story of how the life stages of this rust on swamp loosestrife and sedges were linked is described here: https://t.co/oQdkOqi9he
Are you curious about the role of trichomes on leaf-leaf touching? Read our freshly published paper in @NatureComms. Thanks to my mentor @ronaldpierik and all co-authors for this great collaboration. Enjoy reading it! 👇@UU_Plants
