@blake_calhoun When I think low budget horror, I think Blair Witch’s 60,000 budget. Granted in inflation numbers that would now be double. But not even close to ten million.
@KraytMcGraw I get the hate for TLJ, TROS and Acolyte, but Mando is not that. It’s not woke or terrible. It’s a good family movie that is perfect for dads to watch with their kids. People are ripping this movie apart while they were silent about truly terrible movies like Minecraft.
@Horiphh Are there really that many under 17s in the audience? Around me, theaters ban minors from seeing movies after 7 unless an adult accompanies them. But I guess theaters in some regions just want butts in seats.
@DavidPoland The Minecraft movie was abysmal. But I was thinking about the similarities between the two as well. If Hollywood jumps on this trend I guess we’ll soon be seeing a Stardew Valley and Fortnite movie.
@FiredUpCoug No one is pointing this out, but it’s basically a Star Wars creature feature. And I mean that in the best way possible. If you liked the Jabba palace scenes in ROTJ, you will like this movie. It’s fun, family friendly and not political.
@madsssagascar I hate to say this, but people listening to their AirPods 8 hours plus a day is going to lead to hearing loss. They’ll need hearing aids before they’re forty.
@tex_alt11847@Alkibiades_ Dallas wasn’t even founded until after the civil war. Houston has about thirty years on it. Dallas has old money too. To see Houston’s old money, take a tour of Glenwood Cemetery.
@walterkirn No room for anything remotely supernatural, whether it’s UFOS, ghosts, cryptic creatures or even alternate dimensions. Such a devastatingly boring view of the universe.
@liminal_warmth I wish Christopher Nolan had made an adaptation of The Once and Future King his next project, instead of the Odyssey. Arthurian legend is a much better fit for him and more relevant to audiences in 2026.
@souljagoyteller It should be mentioned that the album Dangerous was released during the fall of 1991. This was the same time frame when Nirvana exploded on the charts. To many teens at that time, MJ’s new music felt very out of touch.
@fandompulse The world building is boring? Bonkers take. The world building of the prequels is what endears them to so many. The sequels on the other hand was copy, paste and change the name.
@SketchesbyBoze 90s kids/teens definitely knew legends like Arthur and Robin Hood. Also knew about American classics like Tom Sawyer. Citizen Kane less so. One of the problems is that they don’t read novels in high school anymore. Advanced classes might learn “about them” but rarely read them.
@ClassicComics3 American fantasy was meant to be turn of the century art nouveau in appearance. American architecture was meant to be art deco. It’s shocking that Oz adaptions almost never exploit the amazing and imaginative characters from Oz books 2-14.
@kballew@AngelMD1103@mcucolo57 Don’t most states require the landlord to give the renters 60 days notice if they are not going to renew the lease? That’s literally what happened to me once. They said the floor was structurally unsound. Although tbh 60 days wasn’t nearly enough time to suddenly plan a move.
