Pope Francis was held in deep affection by many in Northern Ireland. We extend our respectful sympathies to all those grieving his passing.
While many within the unionist community may hold different theological views, it is important to recognise the profound respect and admiration that many of our fellow countrymen and women had for the humble caretaker who entered the priesthood and died as the head of the Roman Catholic church.
At this moment, we acknowledge their sorrow and offer our sincere condolences.
Margaret Thatcher quit as an MP 33 years ago today.
Her cruel decisions have echoed through the decades, creating some of the most serious problems the UK faces in 2025.
5 examples:
Israel mistakenly assassinated 15 medical personnel? Then mistakenly buried their bodies in a mass grave? Then mistakenly lied about it? Until the mobile phone footage appeared.
Oil prices are down, interest rates are down (the slow moving Fed should cut rates!), food prices are down, there is NO INFLATION, and the long time abused USA is bringing in Billions of Dollars a week from the abusing countries on Tariffs that are already in place. This is despite the fact that the biggest abuser of them all, China, whose markets are crashing, just raised its Tariffs by 34%, on top of its long term ridiculously high Tariffs (Plus!), not acknowledging my warning for abusing countries not to retaliate. They’ve made enough, for decades, taking advantage of the Good OL’ USA! Our past “leaders” are to blame for allowing this, and so much else, to happen to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
🚨🗣NEW: 'I've no difficulty with Irish language, but I do with the cost...I've NOT had a conversation with the DUP ahead of Executive on Thursday.'
🎥🎤Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 speaking to Health Minister and @uuponline Leader @mikenesbittni about the estimated £145,000 Irish language signage at Grand Central Station in Belfast.
⁉️Mr Nesbitt questions "why is this coming up so late in the day. Why wasnt it delt with in the construction phase?"
🗣Yesterday, @duponline deputy First Minister @little_pengelly said she will raise concerns on it during Executive meeting on Thursday - Mr Nesbitt says he's had no conversation with DUP ahead of it.
Israel shot 15 medics, one by one, as they came to tend victims. Buried them in a mass grave. Ambulances crushed, buried with them.
If you were asked to make up the worst war crime imaginable you'd struggle to come up with this obscenity.
Christ almighty.

Yr13: this is a great article relating to solo runs and the Ex. Comm Functions Bill that was passed in 2020 using accel. passage. It appears that the right to raise a ministers actions at an Executive meeting now depends on joint sign-off by FM and DFM. https://t.co/YDlgimKt5H
What @garys_economics is correctly saying is that the social contract has been smashed to pieces
We were always told that if you work hard, get an education, get a job - you’d get economic security and a decent roof over your head. This is no longer the case for young people
While the super-rich grow wealthier, the UK Government is targeting the most vulnerable with welfare cuts.
That's why we're bringing a motion to the Assembly, calling on Westminster to introduce a wealth tax on the richest, reverse the cuts and introduce anti-poverty measures.
The Committee on Standards and Privileges has today published a report on two complaints made in October 2024 against First Minister Michelle O’Neill MLA alleging that she has breached the Ministerial Code of Conduct by failing to uphold the Seven Principles of Public Life.
The complaints were investigated by the independent Assembly Commissioner for Standards, Dr Melissa McCullough, who, having established the facts to the required standard of proof, has found that the First Minister did not breach the Ministerial Code of Conduct.
