A lot of care went into @mercury Books.

Grateful to have led the design direction of this product alongside an incredible team.

More to come.

1/ Today, we're launching @Mercury Books.

AI-powered accounting software, for your bookkeeper or you, that categorizes and reconciles your transactions the moment they happen.

its true

and we're just getting started

[Mercury @mercury]

The motion tells the same story as the software. Mercury Books feels like a spreadsheet but thinks like accounting software — it knows transactions, categories, relationships.

We designed Mercury Books around a simple idea: accounting as a form of organizational self-awareness

This is more exciting to me than the last five Apple events.

Here’s what changes after you flip the Books toggle in your Mercury dashboard:

You never make decisions based on outdated numbers from months ago. With automatic categorization and reconciliation running in the background, your books reflect today’s reality.

@valsopi and we're just getting started with Books

Our secret: build the obvious

[verli @verlichen]

@photomatt thank you ✨

[Mercury @mercury]

@immad @verlichen don’t ask how many times we’ve replayed this...

[Andy @andyhsuco]

one of the craziest animations in @mercury

@verlichen cooked so hard on this 🔥

been such a pleasure watching it evolve 🥹

[verli @verlichen]

Software should be expressive. It’s a belief we share across @mercury, and this is one of the most authentic expressions of it i’ve worked on in a while

[immad @immad]

One of the coolest things about @Mercury Books is this insane particle animation for onboarding.

Made the wait for loading in Mercury data + categorization way more fun.

Incredible design by @verlichen.

[verli @verlichen]

@immad @mercury We used particles to give form to all the invisible work happening under the hood: transactions gathering, organizing, and resolving into a clear picture of your business.

A small moment, but one we obsessed over.

How we feel after fixing something that's been broken for 532 years

[immad @immad]

Mercury is launching something huge tomorrow.

I wanted to start work on this 2.5 years ago. But it took a while to start then a long time to build it to the level and depth to launch it.

Any guesses on what it is?

[verli @verlichen]

@nick_pelle I get you
