@StoicConsultant Bluetooth, credit card transactions. Ai and facial recognition. All sorts of fun ways to do it these days. Insurance companies are doing it w access to financials. This isn’t a corporation setting a price based on a margin. This is a company literally gouging you real time
@StoicConsultant Surveillance pricing is gouging. No? They’re doing it man. It’s okay to be frustrated that people are sheep and can’t help themselves but let’s not be black and white contortionists about shareholder value
@StoicConsultant I don’t eat at chipotle. You seem to be projecting.
Right now the four meat packers are being sued for price gouging. So I’ll say it one last time.
You can admit that Americans are being price gouged and simultaneously that they’ve invited the environment by not being better
@StoicConsultant Federal & state regulators are actively prosecuting high-profile price gouging and artificial intelligence-driven "surveillance pricing" cases. Recent legal actions target major corporations for inflating costs on everyday essentials like groceries, digital retail, and insurance.
@StoicConsultant I ate 20# bags of rice w soy sauce and hot sauce for two years after college. I know how to skimp. I’m simply saying that to defend the price gouging of corps by telling everyone to eat the same three things to save money is madness. Simply admit there is gouging.
@603IronMarshal2@jeremykauffman I don’t agree with that. I just think it’s disingenuous at best and downright shitty at worst to virtue signal intelligence, call other retards, all while being willfully ignorant to truth and science and simultaneously tweeting about seeking it. Philosophically shitfaced
@Cookie_BigRick@travis4nh We have a nanny and big brother state today….you don’t seem as afraid today as you do about a socialist future? Let’s dig into that
@603IronMarshal2 Food is unique because of the weather, geopolitics, biological lag times, and black markets. A general average simply can’t apply. So you have a fixed output industry (cattle) that are perishable. From the time the cow is born to slaughter the price of beef can spike or dip.
@603IronMarshal2 The idea of tethering the price of any one specific thing or any specific category of things to the rate of inflation is economically flawed because it confuses broad, lagging statistical average with real time supply and demand. Food specifically is unique.
@603IronMarshal2 Beef is higher because of drought, diesel, and feed. The supply is low because the costs are high and there are four packers that essentially act as a cartel to control wholesale. There is an ongoing civil case against these packers for artificially inflating prices of beef
@anarchy_dot_gov@TomG61356162@jeremykauffman The fed tripled printing since 2008 to $22T. dollar is worth shit. Stocks soar nonetheless. It’s really that simple.
And Daniel’s right. The socialists are going to win. Better hope the first ones can’t deliver one promise. It’s one more than either party.
