I always think back to that period in 2020, when lockdowns caused a record drop in emissions, & everyone said, “Nature is healing!” & then our governments & corporate overlords immediately shut it all down & turned the public against the idea forevermore.

AI is the perfect capitalist project: contributing nothing, stealing other people's work, inevitably collapsing, and leaving an environmental and cultural wasteland wherever it goes
Not only that, but, the computers require so much computing power, which generates so much heat, they use a LOT of water to keep them from overheating. Training ONE AI program for three weeks can require over 250,000 gallons. It's harmful RIGHT NOW, let alone long-term.
I'm not often compelled to speak out about things like this - but are companies like Google and OpenAI aware of the serious, permanent damage they've done?
Not just to this - an admin can change this. But to *images on the internet as a whole*.
