Killmonger took things way too far, obviously. But Wakanda sitting on all that technology while watching the rest of the world suffer was never going to sit right with me either.

Why couldn't Captain America just put Mjolnir on top of Thanos?

Cap would've have to put him down first but so far, nobody has been able to do so. And as shown in the fight scene, every time Captain America would take him down, he would get back up.

You think that Cap didn't have that idea in Endgame? It was probably on the top of his mind which is why he was trying to gain the high ground.

Thanos is extremely durable and strong, his armor contributed to that as well. Thanos was already aware of how powerful Mjolnir is since he studied the Avengers.

So, Captain America probably didn't overlook the idea. The real problem was getting Thanos down long enough to actually put Mjolnir on him.

Killmonger often believed that he should be the one deciding how Wakanda's power would reshape the world. His desire to challenge oppression could coexist with personal ambition, vengeance, nationalism, and a willingness to dominate others.
Killmonger saw suffering and believed Wakanda had a responsibility to act. T'Challa disagreed with the way Killmonger believed that responsibility should be carried out.
That makes him more interesting than a typical villain.
He wasn't necessarily wrong about the problem. He became dangerous because of the solution he was willing to impose.
Maybe Killmonger was painted as the villain because fiction is often more comfortable condemning the man willing to burn the system down than confronting the system he was trying to expose.
