@msfrankfurters @_xSuccuboix_ you said “docking is solely cosmetic” not “docking is sometimes cosmetic” i know many dogs that hunt and many that have had a tail sprain/injury. its a quick painless procedure that will pretty much only be neutral or beneficial for a dog. they still have a tail its just shorter

@msfrankfurters @_xSuccuboix_ most well bred vizslas get their tails docked and its not just cosmetic! shorter tails are less likely to get caught on things while hunting + less prone to straining or happy tail. mine has a docked tail and has still had a couple injuries.

@_xSuccuboix_ its why we did! my vizsla has a docked tail and has STILL had multiple tail strain related injuries because of how hard she wags. its cosmetic for a lot of breeds but pretty standard for vizslas. she was only three days old and was given a local anesthetic by the vet so no pain
