Either Ireland was desperate to retain this house, or the UK was desperate to get rid of it. Whichever the case, the UK-Ireland border deviates to accommodate it!

And how do people feel, in contrast, about Keir Starmer no longer being Prime Minister, Good is the biggest word, followed by Happy and relived, though a smaller number say sad and indifferent.
The N54 (Ireland) crosses the border with the UK four times. During the two times it makes an incursion into the UK it becomes the A3. Upon doing so the speed limit also changes from metric 100 kmh to imperial 60 mph. The road markings also change from yellow to white.

On the border between the UK and Ireland there is a piece of Ireland that juts northwards into the UK). Cutting through this section of land is a road. In the space of a few miles, this same road changes its name, speed limit, and from imperial to metric four times.

Am surprised from focus groups this week how much the lack of lectern for Burnham’s No10 speech has cut through and as a Starmer contrast, psychologically seems to have landed as bolder/removing a barrier.
There’s a decent amount of political capital to be found not in actively introducing Good Things but just cancelling Starmer’s pointless Bad Things (the below, non-jury trials, Digital ID, Hermer).
It won’t be enough but it’s a start.
For years, the SNP's attack on Scottish Labour is that it has the B-team in Holyrood - they yearn for London and will take it at any opportunity.
Anas Sarwar lives up to this cariacture and deeply damages his party

2) Labour source says of Sarwar’s legacy: “Two election defeats. Zero political nous. And now a seat in the Lords and a ministerial job. Anas Sarwar’s political career is a masterclass in falling upwards.”
When Labour increased the bus fare cap from £2 to £3 their absurd defence was that if they didn't do it fares would go up to £10.
This morning Heidi Alexander repeated that claim - the govt had to increase the bus fare cap by 50% to stop fares rising to £11, £12 & £13.
🌹Early thoughts on Anas Sarwar quitting as Scottish Labour leader:
- Insiders think the contest will be Marra v Lennon, if she gets back to Holyrood in time for the contest.
- A “full and frank” contest will take place
- Figures are furious with Sarwar for going to the Lords
