On October 7, the Idan family from Kibbutz Nahal Oz lost their 18-year-old daughter, Maayan. Subsequently, Hamas abducted her father, Tsachi, took him to Gaza, and killed him as well.

Moments earlier, terrorists had stormed their safe room and shot his 18-year-old daughter, Maayan; she breathed her last right in his arms.

Afterward, the Palestinians took his wife Gali's phone and livestreamed the harrowing scene from her Facebook page to all her friends, intending to warn neighbors that they, too, would soon face the same fate.

The footage shows the family huddled together on the kitchen floor. They are covered in Maayan's blood. Amidst this, Tsachi's young children can be heard asking in Hebrew, "Are they killing us? Are they killing us?"

According to reports by The Times of Israel and The Jerusalem Post, Tsachi’s hands were then tied behind his back. this was one of the most high-profile abductions to take place in their kibbutz.

The children were heard pleading with Hamas not to take their father away or kill him.

"I love you; don't try to be a hero be smart. Take care of yourself and come back to me safe and sound," Gali screamed as they dragged Tsachi away.

Tsachi was later killed while in captivity. In Gaza, a profound evil is nurtured through a deliberate conspiracy, and we must determine what needs to be done to live in peace.

This must not happen again.
