In med school, I learned that Huntington's disease was one of the most devastating inherited conditions. It caused progressive neurological decline, starting around age 30. There was no treatment. Now, Huntington's has been treated for first time.

This is why we fund science.

Caitie was okay (though I did insist she go to the ED), but the similarities have been rattling around in my head today.

Our dog Zulu was in the backseat, and was also safe. Vet thinks he was concussed.

Wish I had something more eloquent to say, but all I can say is thank you.

Yesterday, Caitie was in a hit and run with a car that blew a red light and fled the scene. She called me from the scene, after she was unable to get out of her car. My attending immediately gave me the day off, I got to her and she was nauseous with ?LOC on the scene.

I tell this story because I know how hard it can be to find a good program that supports you. And when push came to shove MCW PM&R had my back within moments.
