As civilizations grew taller and more ambitious, one question became impossible to ignore:
"How do we know this building won't fall?"
That question gave birth to structural engineering.
Today, every beam, column, slab, and foundation is calculated before construction begins.

Kamel Harwash
Kamel Harwash is a Saudi-born academic, civil engineering professor at the University of Birmingham, and former chair of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC). He became a prominent public figure after engaging in Palestinian solidarity activism following Israeli actions in the Palestinian territories, eventually serving as the elected chair of the PSC for a five-year term.
Harwash has actively participated in Palestinian solidarity rallies held throughout the UK, including those following the war in Gaza. He noted the scale of public engagement, stating he witnessed 15 protests with over 100,000 people at each one, attributing this high attendance to public anger with the UK government's stance on Israel.
In UK politics, Harwash made history by standing as an independent parliamentary candidate in Birmingham Selly Oak during the 2024 general election on a pro-Palestine platform. Prior to this, he served as a Green Party councillor, a role he accepted through a team effort involving Green Party support, marking a significant victory in a non-Muslim-majority, Labour-run area.
Kamel Hawwash's political positions are defined by a platform of radical democratic reform, socialist economic policies, and an uncompromising stance on Palestinian rights and anti-imperialism. His views, articulated during his 2024 independent parliamentary campaign and subsequent role as a Green Party councillor, include:
1. Foreign Policy and Palestine
Harwash central political commitment is the immediate recognition of the State of Palestine and strict adherence to international law.
International Law: He advocates for the UK to fully support rulings by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding Israel.
Arms Trade: He demands a total ban on arms sales to Israel, criticizing the UK government as "complicit" and a "partner" in what he terms genocide. He has also historically called for suspending arms sales to Saudi Arabia due to the war in Yemen.
Zionism and Israel: Hawwash defines Zionism as "Jewish supremacy" and views the 1948 creation of Israel as an act of "terror" that caused a refugee crisis. He describes Hamas as a "liberation and resistance Islamic movement" and has controversially referred to the October 7 attacks as "courageous," distinguishing between anti-Zionism and antisemitism.
Two-State Solution: While he has historically analyzed the viability of a two-state solution, he increasingly argues that Israeli settlement expansion has made it impossible, suggesting the reality is now a single state that must either grant equal rights to all or be acknowledged as an apartheid state.
2. Domestic Economic and Social Policy
His domestic manifesto aligns closely with left-wing and Green Party principles, focusing on public ownership and wealth redistribution.
Anti-Establishment: He positions himself against "parachuted" candidates and career politicians, emphasizing his independence from party machines (having left Labour in 2023 over its leadership's stance on Israel).

@WallStreetApes It's getting really rough.
I'm of the opinion that civil/mechanical/soil engineering, skilled trades (HVAC/plumbing/electrical/septic, ect) and a few forms of software (getting tougher too) are some of the few careers where stability is a bit better.
It's not easy for anyone.

No easy feat to accomplished. You go into engineering and you can go into any field you wish to. My fraternity brothers that had a degree in Chemical some went into Medical School. I stayed with my Civil field. Congrats!
Precision engineering is the discipline of eliminating failure from systems where failure is not an option. @TheNdegeGroup applies this to every platform it coordinates for ASDT principals, from civil aviation to sovereign defence infrastructure. The standard is institutional.
TRIC Robotics has built an autonomous robot called Luna that roams strawberry fields after dark, using UV-C light to kill fungal pathogens like powdery mildew and botrytis — without a single drop of pesticide. Already reducing chemical use by up to 70% across California farms, TRIC raised $5.5M to expand its fleet.
