@binarytemple I've had nine straight years of decent experiences with Amtrak. These two clusterfucks were above and beyond anything I've experienced before.

Here we are standing outside of our replacement train in the cold waiting to board. And @Amtrak will board us once the bus fill of sleeper car passengers arrives. They were on later busses because they were served food before being crammed into a bus.

Just heard from an Amtrak employee that they have stayed so lean on staff that he's seen the snack car be closed, unstaffed, from Chicago to California. That's the only food and beverage option for coach passengers. They also said, "Get used to it. It's not getting any better."

- Amtrak, again. Rock slide. Sucks but it happens. Can be addressed without an incredibly cramped bus jam packed with people who'd been on a train for 30 hours. (Do 4 train cars of people fit in two busses? Yes, apparently.) Cramped, cold, and hungry.
