"I'm not going to go through... an exam on the fiscal rules."
Andy Burnham, Labour candidate in the Makerfield by-election, refuses two times to tell @vicderbyshire what the fiscal rules are, but confirms he'd stick to them if he became prime minister.

@unisontheunion@unisontheunion as a union where almost 80% of your members are women, please clarify, are you now campaigning for the Equality Act to be changed so 'sex' is no longer a protected characteristic?
@EllieChowns Dr Chowns, could you be specific about whether you think:
1) the Code is unlawful, in the sense that it does not reflect the law in some way, and if so how; or
2) the law is wrong, and if so how; or
3) you have a concern about the Code of a different type, and if so what?
@stellacreasy@EHRC I understand you told your constituents that the law is wrong & new primary legislation is needed.
If you want effectively to destroy the protected characteristics of sex & sexual orientation, that is extremely serious and the consequences for women's & LGB rights are grave.>
So the BMA also wants to remove the sex discrimination provisions for 51%+ of the population.
Women, girls & people who are same-sex attracted.
Consolidated in the 2010 Equality Act on the basis of sex.
The trade unions are a regressive, sexist, homophobic, utter disgrace.
Does @NadiaWhittomeMP realise what it means to “legislate to make the Equality Act trans-inclusive”?
Destruction of the protected characteristics of sex & sexual orientation.
No protection for anything single-sex, from toilets to being gay.
Lesbians at the sharp end, as ever.
@NadiaWhittomeMP So you do not support the 2010 Equality Act that consolidated all previous sex discrimination legislation?
You want to remove the legal rights of women & girls fought for over generations to enable their equal participation in public life?
For shame.
@Alonso_GD Could you explain what you mean by "anti-trans talking points" and then identify the ways in which they're unreasonable?
The core of gender critical belief (which I suspect is what you're referring to) is:
A. Sex is real and immutable. Everybody is either male or female.>
I wish I understood this. Lib Dem policy is to accept the Supreme Court judgment on the meaning of "sex" in the Equality Act- but then to expect that the Code of Practice would say something else...?
Genuinely, I would welcome theories on how people have got into such a muddle.
So the @LibDems accept the SC judgment but reject the Code of Practice.
Clearly they understood neither the judgment nor the issue. It’s an either/or. Either men can be women or they can’t. The judgment says they can’t, under the EqA, so that’s what the Code says. It’s not hard.
People need to understand that trans ideology is not a matter of anything as trivial as a "cultural war." On the contrary, it is a very real effort to destroy women as a sex class and to establish that a woman is nothing more than a collection of regressive stereotypes. The consequences of this will be profound and profoundly bad for women, and for anyone who cares about equality. It will make equality impossible because the very concept of the "interests of women" will necessarily include the interests of men.
I still can’t believe the sitting PM of Australia dismissed debate around the federal sex discrimination act 1984 as a “culture war”. It is literally unlawful to hold lesbian only gatherings in Oz and women are being fined ruinous sums for pointing out the obvious.
This is pretty awesome.
Basically, they're creating a whole journal that's dedicated to post-publication peer review: criticizing papers after they're published in another venue.
A lot of papers need this because so many are horrendously bad.
I hope this succeeds!
First Best Scenario- Destiny 2 ends with Final Shape, Destiny 3 announced and already being worked on
Second Best Scenario- Destiny 2 keeps going after Final Shape with a similar amount of resources for big expansions/seasons. Destiny 3 already greenlit
Third Best Scenario- Destiny 2 end-of-service announced but will end after the next expansion that will be able to tie things up to some degree. Destiny 3 someday
Eleventh Best Scenario- Whatever just happened here
@owenjonesjourno@EHRC That’s what the Code says. Something for everyone. Lots of places offer 3rd spaces already, others have single-user rooms. It’s not complicated. It’s the only way everybody’s rights and wants can be satisfied. And it’s what gender critical feminists have been saying for years…
