It is done.
I finished her late last night.
The last stroke felt so quiet. No fanfare or celestial bells. Just silence and a bit of emptiness. Like all the water had been poured from the cup.
But when I woke the morning. She stood glorious in the sunlight. And I feel I have done something good. It is beautiful. And sad. Because our days together are numbered now. I will start to begin the process of letting her go.
There is no beauty without loss. But we do it anyway. Because what else is there?
Diid putting another LLM on-chain is insane to me! As a huge supporter, curator, and collector of his work I can't help but be mindblown by all the different bodies of works over the years! One of my favorite artists! This work couldn't exist at any other moment in history. Blockchain meets LLMs fully on-chain! Artwork in the computational medium.
Remanence goes live at 12PM EST tomorrow.
Starting off with a full-set of memories! Will defintely go for a full-resolution! If you like fully on-chain ai art go check this out! Another amazing system that needs to be explored.
The mint for "remanence" is live for the next 24 hours!
Each mint represents a "memory," 3 fragments of a master work represented through an elementary neural network.
Everything from social media compression to the lossy process of archiving real-world paintings points to one fact that can be hard to come to terms with: the images of the artworks you see on the internet are not the actual artworks. They are simply corrupted representations of what the artist originally created. Even the paintings themselves get lost through the patina of age.
What does persist is our memory, largely consisting of what the artworks meant to us. While the lossiness of historical art is important to note, it brings us to something much more human: the persistence of emotion.
Tomorrow, we as a community start the process of reconstructing what was lost. Sure, you can combine pieces and collect all fragments to restore the original image, but you can also mix and match. Use these artworks to create something entirely new. 20 prizes are available for those who do: 16 MITG reserve mints for the first full reconstructions, and 4 for the prints shown last month at the Hamptons Fine Art Fair.
So today, go collect memories, and tomorrow hopefully we can put back together what these artworks really mean to us. While I am (obviously) biased here, the more you collect the more you will be able to create tomorrow!
