Instead of a CEO sleep out, we should just put neoliberal economists, the RBA board and big business leaders on the average Australian wage for six months (no access to savings) and get them to show us how it all works - budgeting, finding housing etc, in this economy

Gabrielle Carey was fiercely intelligent: both prickly and generous. I crossed paths with her at Varuna and UTS, where so many students were lucky to be taught by her. Our mental health system is broken. We need to pay artists a living wage.

About a year ago I dreamed I invented the perfect jaffle. It was pickles, deep-fried Camembert and a stroopwafel.

Today I find myself in possession of all the necessary ingredients and it is happening!
