@thathoneywitch @elasenchantment And more recently I just found another content creator who swears by the "nomad" lifestyle, wears Locs, and claims that there is no such thing as cultural appropriation because culture is for everybody regardless of race. (3)
Since everybody is calling out psychosis and toxic spirituality, can we also talk about the issue with New Age Spiritualists promoting “nomadic lifestyles”?
@thathoneywitch @elasenchantment Places for these wellness retreats (or just for enlightenment) and participating in ceremonies that appropriate Indigenous culture. There was on I believe in Arizona not too long ago where non-BIPOC individuals did a sacred chant that is specific to Pasifika culture. (2)
@thathoneywitch @elasenchantment I think it is a little mix of both, or the two are intertwined - not everybody participates in nomadic culture/van life today is appropriating, however I am seeing more content creators take on this lifestyle and go to places like Hawaii, or other (1)
I got in the biggest argument with somebody who isn’t Native to Hawaii, lives there, and claims other Native Hawaiians want to keep tourism..
To make indigenous people (anywhere) rely on modern day capitalism to survive is not only abusive, but causes generational trauma.
Can we add “talk about the dangers capitalism has on witchcraft” to our 2023 New Years resolutions?
From burn out, hustle culture, white washing of manifestation, and unethical mining of crystals.. so much goes unsaid by new age spiritualists and witches.
All things break down eventually. Discarded things yellow in the sun. Walls crumble. Vines reclaim what we left behind. But also disappointments crumble. Failures break down. Regret fades with new opportunity. Nothing is lost, but changes. Nothing you have done is wasted.
