"Why not write an unapologetic book about my absolute devotion to this dead woman, this perceived disaster?" @drnels interviews @EmilyVanDuyne about her book, "Loving Sylvia Plath: A Reclamation"

My interview with @EmilyVanDuyne about her revolutionary book on Plath is up at @veryeager! It encapsulates and solidifies so much about Plath that seemed true but lacked evidence until Emily worked through the massive amount of new archival materials. Thanks, Emily, for so much!
"She’s not trying to separate herself from the crowd; she wants to join others in sharing a (queer) world."

"Chappell Roan’s deployment of bygone sounds and images offers more than nostalgia...In a very different context, theorist of film and photography Kaja Silverman has called it “the miracle of analogy.”

"it’s how she situates her voice within layers of cultural pastiche that positions her in relation to memories, both (inter)personal and cultural" https://t.co/oLSuGGXxA1
Last summer, my wife (big brain) made me watch all of Vanderpump Rules so I could take a break from my academic writing and stop thinking for a second. I (also big brain) played reverse uno and instead enrolled her to think and write with me about Vanderpump Rules.
In honor of #PumpRules returning tonight, I wrote about what I think is the show’s narrative drive: domestic and romantic instability. #Scandoval showed how VPR is formally, narratively, and aesthetically built on domestic strife and precarious intimacies. Check it out!
FRIENDS! @oliviastowell and I edited and contributed to a collection of essays about Vanderpump Rules for @veryeager! It was a dream to do. Our contributors are witty and smart. We’re here to prove that reality tv is a subject worthy of scholarly inquiry. @BravoTV and @Andy
