Update from the Chinese embassy in Papua New Guinea: actually it's not a wine bottle that looks like an artillery shell, it's a charm to ward off evil spirits
Debra Messing paused her Election Day spamming to share “Pray for #Australia” on an Instagram story about the torrential rains in Florida because Melbourne.
She's made off with the Mackinac Bridge! But she's left this clue for you, gumshoe: All the Great Lakes might be great, but this one's only the fourth largest of them by surface area.
Although people all over the world are happy to see Trump and MAGA becoming unpopular in the USA, the reason behind it is far less encouraging.
Trump could support Putin and Russia all he wanted. He could continue to let Ukrainians get slaughtered, treat Canada like shit, threaten Denmark with war, steal from Venezuela to line his own pockets, support Israel's brutality, and insult allies day after day. The American public doesn't support these things, but they don't seem to care very much about them either.
The only reason people are now turning against Trump is because — of all unimportant things — gas has become a little bit more expensive in in a country wealthier than any other in world history. THAT is what infuriates the average voter and makes them turn against Trump
The rest of the world is lucky that this is happening, as it weakens Trump. But that doesn't mean we should assume that the USA will act morally on the world stage in the future. Deep down, they simply don't care very much.
2.5 days into 4 day long weekend and I’m strongly considering finally playing Morrowind (probably though I’ll wait till I’m bedridden with severe illness or retired)
My favourite genre of US election content is British journalists travelling through the country slightly bemused at everything they’re seeing like they’re de Tocqueville or something
Giant skeletons at the new Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico City. A new cultural event created because they saw it in a Bond movie and thought it looked cool.
