@KeirunTeo It is interesting because especially as in recently people are more and more leaning towards to tropes, so it results in narrative being shaped by characters rather than characters being shaped by it. Though I wish his work was a bit more consistent so it'd be easier to analyze
I think there is a lot to be said regarding Kerry's character people don't talk about enough. He is someone who is unable to commit to a person or a cause, and that throughout the game you get several glimpses of this; from the start of his quest line to Romanced Nomad Ending
@KeirunTeo I agree to this. I believe he had the experience in life and insight to write complex characters but he didn't necessarily understood the complexity he wrote himself
@KeirunTeo I understand where you are coming from, and yes there might be some undercurrent of resentment due to Spider, but as I said before if there is jealousy I think it is probably not due to personal relationships but due to status Johnny held at time as the corporate rebel™
@KeirunTeo I am aware he can be inconsistent and a writer's intentions is not always what reader understands (or writer's opinion on their creation changes). Each person interprets what they perceive, I merely think Rache's negative feelings regarding Johnny is not due to romantic jealousy
@KeirunTeo Rogue and Alt shared this impression even though they did love Johnny, his close circle of friends also did. While text is always open to interpretation I do not agree that his dislike was due to Spider
@KeirunTeo and disregards people's wishes. They are not actual "siblings", they just had a relationship similar to it. And with it all it still doesn't mean he was jealous of Johnny in a romantic context, not that he is above jealousy; he just thought Johnny as a hypocrite and self-centered
@KeirunTeo Pondsmith clarified that bond between Murphy and Bartmoss was intended to be similar to a sibling relationship though, and relationship between Rache and Alt's was not one of mutual like but rather respect. His dislike for Johnny was based mostly on principals
@Omirrainha11@Spider_Kaiju There are actual werewolves and psychics in Cyberpunk already, Mike Pondsmith talks about in Morro Rock radio although if I am not remembering it wrong he did say he was mixing truth and lies to make it more compelling
I find Hanako and Alt's overall situation quite interesting. Hanako is one of the few people who understood the scale of things Alt was creating and even managed to develop her own program out of Alt's creations
But precisely due to this he is unable to create genuine connections as well. Just as principles Johnny sticks to not having a proper foundation Kerry's lack of principles also makes his life much lonelier. Understanding Kerry is a necessary step to understand Johnny
This doesn't mean he is a bad character, not at all. His inability to move on is what makes his character complex and charming; as a narrative tool he is the representation of a part of Night City's soul; the colorful and blinding part
