MINAGRI is preparing the national digital registration of animals through AMIS/iHaze, an important step towards improving animal husbandry in Rwanda and supporting the management of One Health.
As part of preparations to rollout the system, District Animal Resource Officers and Veterinary Sanitary Mandate (VSM) Companies who are among the key users of the system are taking part in the initial hands-on training at RAB Headquarters in Rubona.
The training is being conducted by MINAGRI, equipping frontline animal-resource and veterinary officers with practical skills to use AMIS/iHaze for animal registration.
The training is part of the preparations for the upcoming national animal registration campaign, which will involve farmers across the country.
The registration will provide a digital foundation for better animal identification, traceability and management, supporting farmers, veterinary services and animal-resource management.
By improving access to reliable animal information, Rwanda is strengthening its capacity to support healthier animals, improved productivity and better management of One Health.
This work is supported by the Government of Rwanda through different development partners including IFAD for cattle and AFR Rwanda.
The national animal registration campaign is coming. Farmers and stakeholders across the country will be engaged as we move forward.

How @WorldBank-supported #SAIPII is transforming livelihoods in Rwanda.
Meet Ildephonse Birimana, a young agripreneur who leveraged a 90% matching grant to establish greenhouses that now export French beans and green peppers.
With the support of the Muyanza Reservoir, local farmers have transitioned from subsistence agriculture to market-oriented production.
Today, Ildephonse is financing his university education through agribusiness—a strong example of how strategic investment in irrigation technology, entrepreneurship skills, and rural infrastructure can create lasting opportunities.
Implemented with leadership from @RwandaGov and support from #SAIP, the initiative is helping build a more resilient and competitive agricultural sector.
#SAIPII is set to empower 65,000+ households, including 42% women, through investments in:
• Stronger institutions
• Higher productivity & improved nutrition
• Efficient irrigation systems
• Better market access & value addition
