For me, Gill and Rahul’s stance was much better. Came under immense pressure with two wickets down for nothing. Two rounds of hard new ball.. And today morning the pitch behaved like a sleeping mine-field for right handers when bowling from Anderson end. Almost every ball of Stokes looked like a missile hitting the stumps. Ball kicking out of nowhere, zipping through below the knees.. the body blows.. It was Test match masterclass batting display by KL and Gill in extremely tough conditions. Brave of them to trust their defense when it looked like one ball will for sure have your name in it..

Jaddu and Washi being lefty was a match saver. Right handers would have been blown away in this surface..

Almost all of his innings have come in a sticky situations. I only wish he improves his “strike farming” decisions. The same mistake he did in Australia also wherein he exposed the tail at the beginning of the over only to trigger a bundle. The extra runs would have been match defining

From 400/3 to less than 500 bundled out, in a flat track pitch.. If am England captain, will derive lot of confidence in the capitulation abilities of the Indian batting lineup. It means a comeback is possible from any position. All Stokes needs is one good bowler to support him.
