Das Europäische Parlament hat heute per Eilverfahren die bereits zweimal abgelehnte und seit April abgelaufene Chat-Kontrolle wiederbelebt. Mit einem perfiden Abstimmungs-Trick wurde die Massenüberwachung privater Chats wieder eingeführt.

Statt einer normalen Mehrheit brauchte es zur Ablehnung eine absolute Mehrheit von 361 Nein-Stimmen, AUF1 berichtete. Trotz 314 Nein-Stimmen und lediglich 276 Befürwortern wurde das Gesetz durch diesen dreisten Taschenspielertrick dennoch beschlossen.

Bereits im März hatte das Parlament dieselbe Überwachung klar abgelehnt. Nun nutzte die EVP-Fraktion, welcher unter anderem die CDU und ÖVP angehören, die letzte Sitzung vor der Sommerpause, um sie im Eilverfahren zurückzuholen.

Unter dem Deckmantel des Kinderschutzes wurde damit die anlasslose Überwachung privater Nachrichten von Millionen Bürgern legalisiert und damit ein weiterer Schritt in Richtung digitaler Totalüberwachung durch Big-Tech-Konzerne gegangen.
