Cyclists are the most vuln road users because unlike peds they're exposed to multi-ton vehicles doing 60mph on the h'ways. No apologies for repping them.
@UB1UB2 A vehicle such as this should be allowed on the public carriageways so long as it is stable, which sadly this vehicle wasn't.
People don't know this but any wheeled contraption is permissible on the carriageways if it isn't powered by a motor.
@ZiaHata@bobbylakhanpal@sidhant Are you ready to feel the pain if the millions of Palestinians who have lost their loved ones on account of the murderous Israeli activity his father encouraged?
Perhaps you should shame yourself?
@boblister_poole Don't you have the modern geegaws/thingybob in you car that warns you when you approach or exceed 20mph?
Why on earth are you using a vehicle engineered to do 150mph on the motorway on a school road in an urban environment?
@boblister_poole I don't suppose you aware that driving at 20mph in an urban area is technically illegal as it comes under the "furious driving/riding" regulations. They are still on the books.
Imagine a horse galloping at 20mph. That is the speed you are "riding" at.
@ChaponaBike123@1963Firestick@backward5boB@bencreed444 You pathetic little nobodies need to get a life beyond expressing sadism towards cyclists on Twitter. Why don't you go watch some footage of schools and hospitals getting bombed in Iran and Gaza. There is a lot more gore there.
@leeroyjones73@FietserGlasgow So you think it right that cyclists who are basically pedestrians on flimsy metal frames should share roads with 44 tonne vehicles doing 50mph. The average cycling speed is about that of a long distance athlete. Should such athletes also share the roads with 44 tonne juggernauts?
@FietserGlasgow The cyclist had poor legal representation, and as I suspected the death wasn't directly due to the collision's impact. Don't see why the hospital is not charged with negligence.
What happens to the motorists who kill 5 pedestrians on the sidewalk each year?
@binliftin4osama@but_cyclists It is a special half-brain subhuman who uses a 2500kg vehicle 200cm wide to haul their 85kg 50cm wide arse around, AND THEN, complains about the prohibitive cost of fuel, AND THEN, complains about the vehicle getting stuck in traffic along with many other such vehicles๐๐ค
@ThinkLicence With that awful road surface I would have taken primary position. The quality of the road surfaces in the UK now mean riding close to the kerb is dangerous.
When you are caught with a bad pothole in front of you and large vehicle at your side what do you do?
@OliveOilx666@but_cyclists The assumption here is that if the bicycle had separate brakes there would have been enough time to prevent a collision. A motor vehicle travelling at the same speed with fully functional brakes would not have been able to stop in time.
The defendant had poor lawyers.
@but_cyclists The real problem is not being addressed here. Passenger cars are too big for their purpose and only when drivers realize this that true change will be possible. A seated person requiring 0.5 sq m drives a vehicle using 10sq m on the road, 20 times more than needed.
@AssassinLV91@SusieM414141 This is commonsense that Anglo-Saxon countries don't seem to grasp. The road users maintaining the straight line path always have priority unless there are clear signs stating otherwise.
Vehicles on the carriageways are not special just because they are not broken up by sidewalks
@RichardJMurphy Looks like performative theatre on the part of the police.
Looking forward to a dramatic highly publicized "perp walk" in the not too distant future.
PS. What is a "police issue laptop"? How are they different from regular laptops?
@NFBUK Floating bus stops are a fixed problem. Just apply this old fashioned technology. If it is considered good enough for impulsive school children, it must be good enough for mature self-controlled blind people.

@MaCgroupUK Does that look like a bicycle lane to you? That looks like a line of paint which is a danger to cyclists because riding in them encourages drivers to close-pass them.
Take those out and cyclists will take primary position.

@ediz1975 Tell us what road it is, and get support of the homeowners on that street in putting up very visible signs on that street, and get some support from the staff of those schools as well.
