It appears we have a replacement for our usual summer tournaments like Worlds - the top 256 players (from each regional rating zone) in the May IC will receive invitations to compete in a double elim tournament in July, which will conclude in August. Thank you @playpokemon!

Phew, what a wild weekend... Feeling very happy to come out of this event as a finalist. It's obviously not fun to lose yet another final, but I'm still insanely proud. Thank you all for the support, special shoutout to everyone who was involved in the organization!

Okay so we uh 1) crashed battlfy 2) broke the player cap 3) filled registration in 20 minutes anyways

So Champions Cup basically froze the website, caused a ton of issues, Went over cap by 300 and we're still sorting things out.

Pretty crazy, we probably would have gotten 1000+ entrants in 30 minutes if we didn't pull the plug.

We're announcing the following VG Rule change:
"The time limit for each individual game will be 20 minutes."

This rule will apply for the Regional Championships Malmö Main Event and any Side Events that grant Championship Points. No changes are applied to any other timer.

(That 116 is not counting separate Rotom formes or Indeedee genders, and the 206 does not include the 3 legendary Pokemon not allowed in tournament play)

Over the 4 major tournaments of VGC 2020 Series 2, high-performing players earned Championship Points using 116 different Pokemon - more than half of the 206 fully evolved Pokemon in the Galar Pokedex.
