Last week's Community Baby Shower at Richey Elementary was a great success. We had a wonderful night with our new and expecting parents of Pasco County! The event included maternal/infant education, community resources, games, dinner, and more.
Quality early childhood experiences help set Pasco students up for success. Families of our youngest learners, check out the opportunities to attend a VPK program with certified teachers. Applications for @pascoschools VPK programs open Jan. 8, 2024 & close Jan. 19 @ 4:30pm.
DYK? There are more than 560 federally recognized tribes in the U.S. Each tribe has its own culture, and many have their own language.
Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay!
October is #HeadStartAwarenessMonth!
Head Start programs empower both children and families by delivering essential support in early learning, health, and family well-being. Throughout October, join us in celebrating the past, present, and future of the Head Start program!
Micromanagement is an aggressive leadership style which doesn't just affect the present; it fosters an environment of fear and tension, stifling risk-taking, open discourse, and individual potential. This impedes the school's capacity to progress and attain its fullest potential
Happy #GrandparentsDay! ❤️
Today we celebrate the incredible role our grandparents play in our lives. Let's take a moment to cherish the wisdom, joy, and love they bring every day. 👵👴
Students with fewer absences read at an earlier age. Even as early as preschool, it’s important to make sure that children are at school every day. #ShowUpWalkProud#SchoolEveryDay@pascoschools
The doors on the bus go open and shut… 🚌 🎶
For toddlers, music and movement are more than just entertainment. Beat, rhythm, and tempo all stimulate children’s developing brains - helping body and mind to work together in coordination.
Repetitive songs like “The Wheels on the Bus” also help children with important pre-reading skills like pattern recognition and auditory discrimination (the ability to distinguish between separate sounds).
There’s little question that the song is engaging this little one’s brain (while also boosting his mood).
Watch as he anticipates and carefully times his “open and shut” movements.
There’s a lot of brain power on display in this joyful video, posted to IG by jackielegss.
