The CEO of the biggest company on earth had never posted on social media in his life. Until this week. He broke his silence to stop the US government from doing something, and it put him on the same side as China, against America's own top AI labs.
The secret to not being awkward is to never force conversation. Don’t try to come up with interesting things to say, don’t talk to people for the sake of talking, don’t voice opinions or ask questions to sound smart. Instead, notice your own curiosity and follow it. If you don’t have any, radiate comfort in your silence.
There's a new guy at work and he's been here maybe two weeks and we're in a meeting and my boss is talking about quarterly goals or whatever and she goes "we really need to circle back to customer retention" and this guy raises his hand and goes "I have a question" and my boss is like yes and he goes "why do you always say circle back?" and the whole room goes quiet and my boss is like what and he goes "you say it like every meeting is there a reason we're going in circles why don't we just go forward" and someone coughs and he's still going "like I've been keeping track you've said it eighteen times in two weeks" and my boss just stares at him and goes "have you never worked in an office before" and he goes "I have but nobody said circle back this much it feels aggressive" and I swear my boss aged five years and she goes "it's just a phrase" and he goes "okay but like why circles" and she just moved on with the meeting. He got let go during his probation period today and I heard him ask HR if it was because of the circle thing.
You're trying to explain something to people who intentionally DO NOT want to understand.
I was at Paul Cafe around Montparnasse, and I saw a lady who I know is adored in French high fashion & luxury media. My classmates in this space talk about her a lot. They adore her. I said "hello", and she replied "hi" with a nice smile. The conversation continued for another 8 minutes. It was more interesting because I spoke about knowing she's from Ivory Coast, and now her first work to go viral was with Virgil and she was just 21. It was a great and short conversation. Then I left her alone.
She's literarily A-level Parisien, and yet, she understood what a pleasant greeting means.
The men that are dragging that guy are also "interesting". What L is he to take? An L because some random lady does not understand social etiquette? In a public place?
My thumb failed to work at my estate gate one day like that. I saw a lady in front of me who had a card and was about to say hello, so she can help. She snubbed. I was like "huh"... I'm trying to get inside... What really is your problem? Let me at least start talk, and if I try to veer into your uncharted waters, bounce me. Most times, I'm not even trying to. It's just a norm to want to meet and talk to people — male and female.
This is also why we travel and have to start learning small talks (some never learn it by the way). Because here, classism will not allow you have it with anyone from just anywhere. Or you'd say it's "Ejo Wewe". But ejo wewes are great starter packs. Tssk. Abeg abegg.

I worked on Jujutsu Kaisen #59! I was in charge of the key animation at the start of the confrontation between Uro and Yuta, as well as Ishigori’s first Granite Blast. A big thank you to the production team for their incredible work, and to the directors for their corrections !
I can't believe I'm saying this but... THE HATERS... THEY WERE RIGHT!!
After watching the season finale of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, and after hearing so many people over the last couple of months say that Jujutsu Kaisen is over-hyped, flashy colours and nothing else... They're right.
It is flashy colours, flawlessly and perfectly crafted, designed and drawn to make some of the BEST ANIMATION in the scene right now! With pure freaking PEAK directing and a gripping story that has me losing my mind at the end of every episode and those flashy colours drag my a** to that screen like a moth to a flame and I LOVE IT!
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 12 was animators at their best and I just want to say well done to all those long hours and sleepless nights we know those superhumans put into these episodes for our enjoyment!
To the animators of Japan we love you! You cooked and we see and appreciate you so much!
This season was AWESOME!! 🔥🔥
