This is why the negotiators on Trump’s side were his son-in-law and his business partner, not Rubio. On the Russian side, it wasn't even Lavrov, but Dmitriev—essentially putin’s "wallet."

It was an attempt to sell part of Ukraine to putin for very concrete benefits. It is no coincidence that within those first 28 points, there was a provision stating that Kushner and Witkoff would gain control over frozen Russian assets.

Trump gave putin a "carte blanche" to win the war. In fact, it's clear that America simply engaged in sabotage under Trump. There were grand statements, but overall, Trump tried to force Ukraine to accept conditions that were, in my opinion, catastrophic.

Ukraine resisted once again against all expectations, and today, Trump simply has nothing left to offer.

If you listen to Russian propaganda, putin himself, and his entourage, there is no indicator that the war could end tomorrow.

And we aren't even talking about the end of the war, but a ceasefire. Any ceasefire means putin must solve the issue of the army—where do you put them?
We are talking about a million people—most are addicts, killers, people accustomed to a completely different way of life. Send them back to Russia? We see what happens when even a few thousand return: a sharp spike in crime and wild social tension. A million people? Never in a million years.

This means putin must look for other war objectives—likely the Baltic states. The war will continue as long as putin has the resources to pursue it.”
