It doesn't take genius guess the Tory plan. Starve our NHS of money for 13 years until there are SEVEN MILLION people on waiting lists, then say "Hey, look, the NHS is failing. We need to privatise it."
Our NHS is not failing.
It is BEING FAILED by the Conservatives
In 14 years as a doctor I’ve never known such horrific conditions. Patients dying on trolleys with zero dignity. Or screaming & moaning in corridors. Dickensian overcrowding, total implosion. Despair. Weeping staff. Abject misery.
Do you care at all @Jeremy_Hunt? @SteveBarclay?
Disappointing that not a single MP joined this pre-arranged meeting. This evidence shows why the government should set its legally binding target for fine particulate matter (PM2.5) of 10 mgs per cubic metre to be met by 2030 – 10 years earlier than their current proposal. (11)
And from Professor Eddie Morris, President RCOG, who is on the Intern Feder of Gynec + Obs Committee on Climate Change + Toxic Environmental Exposures. He's advancing a global strategy to address the impact of the environment on women+ girls’ health throughout their lives.(10)
And from Dr Max Davie, a community paediatrician in south London who couldn't believe the levels of asthma in children living close to the south circular. (Er.. 3.1m children in England go to schools in areas with toxic air) (9)
We heard from Professor Siobhan Quenby who led on the recent Lancet series Miscarriage Matters and how air pollution increases the risk of this common and shattering issue for women (8). https://t.co/7iUfo8tjwr
They'd invited MPs, civil servants + parliament researchers to hear evidence on why we must tighten regulation on air quality to protect women + children.
Attendance:
MPs 0
Civil servants 0
Parl res. 1 (frm shadow Min of Health). So here's some evidence for the 650 MP noshows (2)
On Wedn I had the privilege to chair a joint Royal Colleges of Paediatrics + Child Health, and of Obstetricians + Gynaecologists parliamentary roundtable “The air we breathe: putting women and children at the heart of the debate on air quality in the UK”. What happened? (1)
